Meet Leryn Franco, The ‘Hottest Female Olympian’

Hottest Female Olympian
Leryn Franco, the “Hottest Female Olympian,” believes that, despite her training, she has a better chance of keeping her hottness title than leaving London with a medal. Despite her prediction, however, Franco was Yahoo’s second-most searched Olympian, trailing Michael Phelps.
Following the 2008 Beijing Games, Franco was voted the most attractive athlete by many men’s magazines, despite managing just a 51st place finish, reports Yahoo News. Despite improving her performances, she will probably not finish in the top 20. The Paraguayan javelin thrower stated:
“My situation is different from most of the other javelin throwers. I am not just an athlete. I have to be honest, my career is really in the media. If people open a magazine, they can see me there. Modeling and fashion is my job, too. It takes up much of my time and enables me to make money. It is flattering to me that people find me good-looking and enjoy seeing me wearing good fashion items.”
Leryn Franco’s personal best is 55.65 meters, but her mark is almost 17 meters short of the world record, meaning that when she takes the field on August 7th, she is not likely to medal. Franco stated:
“I am not expecting a medal. The competition is very strong and there are athletes who are stronger than me. But I treat it seriously and I want to do my personal best. For me the best reward is just to be here. Getting to the Olympics is like a medal for me.”

The Seattle P.I. reports that Franco gained more attention in the United States after she was featured in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition last year, as well as gaining a lucrative endorsement contract with Nike. Also, in 2006, Leryn Franco came in second in the Miss Universo Paraguay beauty contest.
